The Top Team
Omiya Ardija suffered some strict calls during Match 26 against Fagiano Okayama and lost 0-1, but pulled together and seized the following two matches against Matsumoto Yamaga FC and Tokyo Verdy. Omiya drew 3-3 in the away match against Ehime FC, one of the their rivals they are competing with to remain in the J2 League. Consequently, as of September 16, Omiya stands at 18th place and managed to hold on to their place in J2.
On August 27, Ryugo Okamoto, Academy Head of Fitness, was appointed to the Top Team Physical Coach.
On September 3, J.League announced the kickoff time for Match 41 and 42 of the 2021 Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance J2 League. Match 41 against FC Machida Zelvia will kick off at 2 p.m., and Match 42 against Thespakusatsu Gunma at 1 p.m.

Women’s Team
In a September 10 announcement, Omiya Ardija revealed that Ayaka Noguchi and CUTLER Grace Erin will join Ardija Ventus under a full transfer contract. The 2021-2022 Yogibo WE League was launched on September 12, and Ardija Ventus played an away match against INAC Kobe Leonessa. Conceding a goal only minutes into the match, Ardija Ventus gave away four goals in the first half. Kobe added another goal in the second half and shut out Omiya in the opening match with five goals. Overwhelmed by powerhouse Kobe, it was a harsh start of the season for Ardija Ventus.

Three Saitama Prefecture-based women’s football teams—Omiya Ardija Ventus, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Urawa Reds Ladies, and Chifure AS Elfin Saitama—paid a courtesy visit to Saitama Governor Motohiro Ono on August 24, before the kick-off of the WE League. Representing Omiya on this courtesy visit were President Hidehiko Sano and Ardija Ventus Manager Takeyuki Okamoto. Governor Ono delivered an encouraging message: “We are proud to have three teams based in Saitama participating in the WE League. I hope they will have a wonderful season and will lead this new league into the future, contributing to the promotion of Saitama Prefecture and to the success of the WE League. I pledge my personal support as well as the full support of Saitama Prefecture. I look forward to your building a team that will move and inspire our children and the communities.”
Meanwhile, on August 25, Omiya Ardija Ventus General Manager Norio Sasaki, Coach Shinobu Ono, and MF Mizuho Sakaguchi paid a courtesy visit to Saitama City Mayor Hayato Shimizu and the Saitama City Council. Mayor Shimizu encouraged the team representatives: “You have a wonderfully balanced team, with experienced players and young and upcoming players. We hope the team will be the driving force of the league and the players will become someone young girls look up to.”
On August 27, Omiya Ardija announced the addition of two firms to the Ardija Ventus marketing program. Murmuration Co., Ltd., became a Top Partner, and Showa Ikueikai (a medical corporation) signed up as an Official Partner.
